touch stone (2017 – ) is an ongoing work by artistic duo momo doto (Dominique Chen + Tom Blake) involving the use of domestic airports in Brisbane and Sydney as temporary sites for collaboration. Each month, Dominique and Tom collect stones (found along the QLD or NSW coastline) which they then pass between eachother by asking passengers travelling between the two cities to carry one in their pocket for the duration of their flight. When a stone is received it is dusted for fingerprints and any residual marks or lines are documented. These residues are used to create large-scale monochromatic prints reminiscent of contour maps.
